Opinion Pieces

Opinion pieces, or OP EDs, are short opinion or anecdotal pieces about current events, news, particular objects or museums, or anything relevant to fields pertaining to material culture. 

CMSMC guidelines for opinion pieces are as follows: 

• no more than 1,000 words 

• All citations, if any, must be in Chicago Style (see our submission guidelines) 

• For opinion pieces, full pieces must be submitted in order to be considered for publication. CMSMC reserves the right to reject any pieces that we feel to be inappropriate, inflammatory, causing defamation, or adverse to CMSMC values

• Submissions should be sent to admin@cmsmc.org with the subject line LAST NAME_OPED_ SUBJECT OF OPED 

Should your submission be accepted, you will receive an email notification from our Editor - in - Chief detailing the next steps.
